Chicken steak with Black pepper sauce and Mashed Potatoes

Chicken Steak with black pepper sauce is a variety solution if you are bored with daily chicken curry and fried chicken. It consist of large and tender chicken pieces marinated well , bursting with flavors of spices It is a very popular dish in America usually served with sauce, salad, fries. This is a very tasty meal and it is a complete meal so I am sure that your entire family will like the recipe and I am sure that  you need to prepare it occasionally. 

If you are going to a restaurant and ordering you may have to eat whatever they are giving but here you can prepare it like as you want. If you want more spicy you can add black pepper or chili or anything else for spice. If you want it more garlicy you can add more garlic in it etc. that is you can add everything upon your taste. If you want more citrus taste in chicken you can use more lemon juice . Everything on you that is the benefit if you can cooking .

The chicken steak made here is so soft so that we can cut it like a cake and eat along with spicy, tangy , buttery sauce . For crunchiness we can have fresh vegetables in butter with little pepper and salt. Toasted bread gives more taste to this combo.

The pan roasted vegetables that is served with the chicken steak is cooked to perfection and to balance out the meal, a simple portion of mashed potatoes and toasted bread is served.

Its quite easy to make but its bit lengthy since it has five parts.

Ingredients:

Chicken Steak:

  • 2 chicken Breast
  • 2 tbsp. sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dark soya sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder

Black pepper sauce:

  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 4 finely chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 medium onion cubed
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon mustard sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soya sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon corn flour
  • salt as required
  • water as required
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 10 crushed pepper
  • Chicken /Beef stock cube

Mashed Potatoes:

  • 2 medium boiled potatoes
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 tablespoon thick cream
  • salt as per taste

Steak Vegetables:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon pepper powder
  • salt as per taste
  • 1/4 cup diced carrot
  • 5 to 6 broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup zucchini pieces
  • 4 baby tomatoes

Toasted Bread:

  • 2 piece bread with sides removed
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions:

Chicken Steak:

  • Make slight slits on chicken and add all the ingredients for chicken steak to the chicken and mix well and allow it to marinate minimum for an hour.
  • Take a grill pan or a normal frying pan and brush some oil on pan with high heat ,once pan is sizzling hot place chicken on pan .
  • Reduce heat to medium and cook chicken until it is fully done.
  • Flip the chicken and brush oil in between so that pieces won't dry.

Black pepper sauce:

  • In a bowl add mustard sauce, soya sauce, ginger garlic paste, oregano, thyme, salt.
  • Add 1cup  water and corn flour and whisk until no lumps found.
  • Add 1 more cup water and whisk well and keep aside.
  • In a vessel on medium flame add butter.
  • Once its hot add garlic and fry until light brown.
  • Add onion cubes, fry until light pink
  • Add pepper and stock cube and mix well.
  • Add it to corn flour mixture that we set aside and mix well
  • Check consistency and add more water if needed.
  • Turn the flame and allow it to cook for 15 minutes, until it is cooked well.

Mashed Potato:

  • Add on medium heat add butter to pan and add boiled mashed potatoes.
  • Add salt, pepper , oregano, thyme and then add milk and cream.
  • Mix well and set aside.

Steak Vegetables:

  • In a pan on a medium head add butter .
  • Once hot add carrot, zucchini and broccoli with salt and pepper.
  • Sautee for 5 minutes and move from flame.

Toasted Bread:

  • In a pan add butter, you can use the same pan for Sautee vegetables, if enough butter is there ,no need to add more.
  • Remove the brown sides of bread and place in buttered pan in a medium heat.
  • Flip after 1 minute and take bread from pan.
 Assemble everything in a plate before serving. Plate steaks and pour a portion of sauce over steaks and keep remaining for dipping. Serve with mashed potatoes, steak vegetables and toasted bread and some baby tomatoes.
